1. General Waybill Conditions
By tendering goods for transport with Meridian Cargo ("Carrier"), the shipper ("Consignor") agrees to all terms set forth herein and on the face of the issued Meridian Cargo Air Waybill (AWB) or Ocean Bill of Lading (B/L). These terms govern all transport services, including ocean freight, air cargo, rail, and overland trucking dispatches.
2. Shipper Warranties & Dangerous Goods (HAZMAT)
The Consignor warrants that all items tendered are accurately described on the transport manifest, properly packaged, labeled, and marked in accordance with IMO (International Maritime Organization) and ICAO/IATA dangerous goods regulations. Undeclared hazardous materials or contraband are strictly prohibited and will be seized at Consignor's sole expense.
3. Carrier Liability & Transit Insurance
Standard carrier liability for cargo loss or damage is limited in accordance with the Hague-Visby Rules (for sea transport) or the Montreal Convention (for air transport). Consignors seeking full coverage must select optional Full Transit Cargo Insurance (+0.8% declared value) during rate quote booking on quote.php.
4. Customs Clearance & Tariffs
The Consignee is responsible for all applicable import duties, customs tariffs, demurrage fees, and local port taxes. Carrier is not liable for delays caused by national customs inspections, quarantine holds, or regulatory documentation deficiencies.
5. Telemetry & Tracking Data
All tracking data provided via the Meridian Cargo portal (`track.php`) is for operational guidance. While satellite AIS telemetry pings are updated continuously, Carrier guarantees estimated delivery dates subject to maritime weather safety and port queue availability.
